"Taylor Canyon Trail"
TAYLOR CANYON - OGDEN, UTAH
Trail description: From 27th Street in Ogden, make your way east where the path connects with the Bonneville Shoreline Trail. Ogden has done a great job with its trail system, and finding the correct trail is easy. The trail up Taylor Canyon follows a small creek on the north side and is covered in a forest of shrub oaks. About a half-mile into the hike, you will come to a small bridge, but do not cross. Stay to the left and continue to follow the creek up the canyon. When you come to the next bridge, cross it to reach the first overlook. Take a break at the overlook and enjoy great views of the Ogden area. From here, the trail takes off into the pine trees and goes around the backside of the mountain. With majestic Mount Ogden above you and wildflowers at your feet, you arrive at Malans Peak. With a 360-degree view, your biggest decision is which direction to sit for lunch.
