Studied Fine Art at the University of Utah; given the Painting Award in 1969–70.
Member of the Art Department at the Salt Lake Tribune since the early 1970s; held the position of Head of Design for Features from 1989 to 2001. Written environmental, arts and humor for the Salt Lake Tribune.
Worked in graphic design and illustration fields on a wide range of endeavors that include set design for Repertory Dance Theater, cartooning for the National Lampoon, wildlife illustration, story illustration and various kinds of design in a variety of media, both painterly and digital.
Designed the memorial logo for the Western Hemisphere Shorebird Reserve Network at the Great Salt Lake.
Designed the Division of Wildlife Services wildlife licence plates.
Taught children's art at the Salt Lake Art Center and through the Open Classroom Program in Salt Lake City.
Shown paintings and sculpture in private shows from 1994 to 1999.
Shown work in the Utah Biennial
Participated in group shows at Phillips Gallery showing abstract, landscape and wildlife paintings.
One man show, Ken Sanders Rare Books, 2004
Along with Tim Kelly and Neil Passey, wrote and illustrated Utah, Gateway to Nevada.
Work in permanent collection of the Salt Lake Art Center and numerous private collections.
